This whimsical Tudor house sits facing the beautiful landscape of Minnehaha Creek. With amazing views and curb appeal the front of the house got all the attention, leaving the back thoughtless and underutilized. A seldom used screen porch looked out onto a cramped backyard and offered zero relaxation. An oddly laid out kitchen separated from the other living areas of the main level, made the interior not conducive to entertaining or watching the kids while preparing dinner. These problems were solved by replacing the unused porch with a addition barely bigger than the existing footprint. The new space creates a family-friendly, entertainment-worthy kitchen with an adjacent family room. The remodeling of the remaining space adds a much needed mudroom & powder room. The second story portion of the addition allows an expanded master bath, closet space and laundry. Roof lines and details mimic the aesthetic of the existing Tudor style and time period.
